Anyone who likes to decorate naturally at Easter and consciously avoids plastic will love this idea: a delicate, handmade Easter decoration made from garden materials, moss, small spring flowers and warm candlelight. The inspiration comes from the wonderful Caro from @urwuechsig_caroline.wolf, who works with a great sense of detail and a large portion of closeness to nature.
Her idea shows how beautiful, simple and valuable decoration can be when it is made from real materials. And how much fun it is to create things that not only look pretty, but are also sustainable.

Materials you need:
– Willow, climbing knotweed or dried grasses
– Fresh shoots from the garden
– Moss
– Small flowers including roots (e.g. daisies or wild violets)
– Natural string or raffia
– A wooden board and/or a shallow bowl
– A few willow catkins
– A decorative egg
– Candles – Natural candles such as our beeswax candles look particularly beautiful
You can find everything you need in the garden, on a short walk or at home.
Step 1: Prepare small spring plants
Look for some small plants that still have their roots. Daisies or other early bloomers are perfect.
Carefully wrap the roots in slightly damp moss and secure the whole thing with natural twine.
This not only keeps the plants stable, but also keeps them fresh for longer – they often even continue to grow. A small, lively spring gift.
Step 2: Form a natural wreath
You don’t need any tools such as wire or glue for the wreath.
Loosely intertwine willow branches, climbing knotweed or dried grasses. The more imperfect and natural, the more harmonious the result.
Tip: A few willow catkins can be wonderfully inserted between the twigs. They bring a soft, spring-like lightness to the wreath.
Step 3: Arrange and design
Place your moss plants, candles and decorative egg on a wooden board or in a shallow bowl. If you want to use both, place the bowl with the decoration in the middle of the wooden plate – this creates a multi-layered, calm arrangement.
Step 4: Complete the wreath
Place the homemade wreath loosely around your decorations.
It captures everything without dominating and makes your DIY Easter decorations a real eye-catcher – natural, warm and inviting.
