Nature is our most valuable asset. At LIV by Neher, we are actively committed to protecting insects and promoting biodiversity. With our 8,000 square meter wildflower meadow and our innovative insect catcher, we make an important contribution to preserving nature. But why is this so important? And how exactly do wildflower meadows and insect catchers help protect nature? In this article, we would like to explain our measures and their significance.Insects are the silent heroes of our ecosystems. They pollinate plants, ensure the reproduction of flowers, fruits, and vegetables, and are an indispensable food source for many other animals. Without insects, the ecological balance would be disrupted, which would have serious consequences for the entire environment. Unfortunately, many insect species are threatened by habitat loss, the use of pesticides, and climate change. This is where we come in to actively make a difference. In 2019, we created an originally 5,000 square meter wildflower meadow at the Neher Insektenschutz company site in Baden-Württemberg. With the construction of the new high-bay warehouse, the area was expanded to 8,000 square meters. This meadow was designed according to the strict requirements of the FFH Directive (Fauna-Flora-Habitat) to create a valuable habitat for insects, wildflowers, and other animals.
This meadow is not only a paradise for bees, butterflies, and other insects, but also a symbol of our commitment to nature. Our LIV Insect Catcher is another cornerstone of our commitment to nature. It was developed to gently and safely remove insects from living spaces without harming them. Instead of killing insects, they can simply be caught with the insect catcher and released back into nature.
With every insect catcher sold, we donate 40 cents to the Network Flowering Landscape (NBL). This donation makes it possible to create one square meter of wildflower meadow in Germany. The NBL is an initiative that has been working since 2003 to create flowering habitats for insects. Together with local partners, the network creates flowering areas, provides high-quality seeds, and advises on meadow maintenance.Wildflower meadows are an important habitat for insects. They provide food, shelter, and nesting opportunities for bees, bumblebees, butterflies, and many other species. At the same time, they contribute to the preservation of biodiversity and promote the health of our ecosystems. Every donation to the Network Flowering Landscape is a direct contribution to protecting nature. At LIV by Neher, sustainability is not just a buzzword, but a matter of the heart. With our wildflower meadow, the insect catcher, and donations to the Network Flowering Landscape, we want to actively contribute to protecting nature and preserving biodiversity.
Each of us can make a difference – whether through buying sustainable products, supporting environmental projects, or making small changes in everyday life. Together, we can make the world a little better.
- FFH Directive: The meadow was designed to meet the requirements of the EU directive on the conservation of natural habitats. This means it is specifically designed to promote biodiversity.
- Mindful maintenance: Our meadow is only mown twice a year to protect the insect habitat. After mowing, we leave the cuttings for a while so that the plants can self-seed and the meadow continues to bloom.
- Expansion through our new warehouse: With the construction of our new high-bay warehouse, we have further expanded the wildflower meadow to offer even more space for insects.

- Easy to use: The insect catcher is easy to operate and allows insects to be safely caught without injuring them.
- Sustainable materials: The insect catcher is made from 100% recyclable plastic and is produced in Germany.
- Social responsibility: The assembly of the insect catcher is carried out in cooperation with Lebenshilfe Landkreis Tuttlingen e.V., an organization that supports people with disabilities.
